GREENWICH, CT— The Greenwich Police Department welcomed a new officer into the ranks earlier this week, as Nolan Heintz was sworn-in by First Selectman Fred Camillo. The small ceremony took place at the Town of Greenwich Public Safety Complex.

According to the Department, Heintz was born and raised in Lindenhurst, N.Y., and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Maureen Heintz. He graduated from Lindenhurst High School in 2013, and attended Farmingdale State College, where he graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology.

Prior to becoming a Greenwich police officer, Heintz worked as patrol officer in the New York City Police Department. There, he was assigned to the 75th Precinct in Brooklyn and East New York. Heintz’s grandfather, William Heintz, Sr., was also an officer in the NYPD.

“Heintz’s dedication to providing public service for others will continue as a Greenwich Police Officer. We wish you many years of great achievements,” the Department said in a news release.
